Our Favorite Restaurants

Some guests have asked for our recommendations on Restaurants in the area, here is a recent resposne I put to gether.

Within walking distance there are breakfast places, a wonderful thai restaurant, two good mexican restaurants, a great locally owned pizza restaurant, Brigadune Pizza- all on 2nd street, just walk down from the cottage 4 blocks to 2nd. Turn right for the Thai Restaurant Noi's and left for all the other restaurants. Good Tides is new and delicious for breakfast and lunch, but not a lot of seating. At the end of 2nd St. right on the little Harbor is Coffee'nThings. we prefer La Palapa of the two Mexican Restaurants on 2nd. There are also menus etc. on the cork board in the kitchen of the cottage. A short drive or half hour walk away is the 10th St. Grill, nice steaks and chops and good wines, very friendly hosts, and right next door for casual family style Italian, Jimmy Bump's . And our favorite traditional Mexican Restaurant in town, La Casita. Also, great burgers at Sylvester's in Los Osos. And for the best sit down full breakfast you can't beat Celia's Garden Cafe.

A few of our favorites within easy driving distance include Taco Temple on main street in Morro Bay, it is gourmet california nouveau mexican, in a very informal setting, expect a wait. For quick and delicious seafood and the freshest in the area there is Giovanni's Fish Market in Morro Bay. For a gourmet sit down dinner Window's on the Water also in Morro Bay is 4 star. In San Luis there are many more, we like Novo. For casual dining breakfast to dinner we like Big Sky in SLO. A little further away down in Pismo Beach for gourmet Italian and a beautiful fun atmosphere, we love Giuseppe's. And for a 5 star gourmet dinner up in Cayucos a very pricey but worth it Hoppes.

And some more kind words from some recent guests:

Hello Brian,

Just a quick note to let you know how much my wife and I enjoyed the cottage. The cottage was perfect!! We could tell you guys have spent a lot of time making this place comfortable for guests. Your attention to detail in the walkway, the front deck area and landscaping as well all the nice touches in the cottage really shows here. The location was great. We walked everywhere. Only 6 blocks to my Dads home.

Thanks again, we will be back.

J & M P.

Just wanted to say thanks for the hospitality this past week at your cottage. We really enjoyed the location and coziness of the place.

Thanks again! (ps- my wife was/will be recommending it to people she met out there:)

"the cottage" is very charming and comfy!
